The EPF Congress 2019 is the first European-level congress on patient involvement organised by the patient community. The Congress, under the theme “Meaningful patient involvement – the path to more effective health systems”, will take place on 12-14 November 2019 at Crowne Plaza Hotel – Le Palace, Brussels.
The Congress will provide an exceptional opportunity for dialogue and engagement with the pan-European patient community and a wide range of health actors who are working to make patient involvement a reality. Our aim is to share and exchange innovative and inspirational practices and knowledge, and to provide participants with inspiration and resources to help them champion patient involvement in their own professional and personal networks. EPF will also use the outcomes of the Congress to co-create a framework for promotion of meaningful, structured and systematic patient involvement in Europe.
Sessions will focus on exploring the “why”, “what” and “how” of patient involvement, with working streams focussing on how patient involvement can ensure best value in healthcare; how patients can improve health systems performance assessment; making co-production in research the new normal; exploring co-design of health services; working with patients to ensure digital tools bring real benefits; and the contribution of patients and families to improving patient safety. We will also explore equity and diversity, and the potential of patient involvement to improve the education of health professionals.
Places at the Congress venue are limited, so we would encourage you to register early to avoid disappointment.
